Is this the same as the settlement language review service?

No. The lab is a training that teaches attorneys to recognize the issues themselves. The settlement language review is a service in which TOVA reviews the language in a specific case before signing. They are related but separate; the lab teaches, the review is case work.

Does it qualify for CLE credit?

The material is delivered to CLE depth. CLE credit is awarded through the sponsoring law firm, bar association, or approved provider, subject to the rules of the jurisdiction. TOVA presents the material.

What the lab covers

The session works through the retirement division language that commonly fails at plan review: how "marital share" gets defined so an administrator can act on it, why gains and losses wording changes what actually transfers, the difference between a percentage award and a dollar award and when each one fails, and the plan terms that have to match the account rather than a template. The focus is defined contribution plans and IRAs, where forensic tracing and clean drafting carry the result.
